"Mitt the Mormon" for President

Check out the front page of Slate.com today and the first thing you'll see is a picture of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, accompanied by the words "Boxers, briefs or Mormon underwear." The author of the article, Christopher Hitchens, insists that Romney should feel obligated to discuss his Mormon faith. Hitchens spends the majority of the article accusing Mitt Romney of being a racist, a fraud and a leader of the "mad cult" of Mormonism. The article is blatantly bigoted, packed with half-truths and empty accusations. Hitchens wears his feelings on his sleeve and expects that Romney should as well. Essentially he is asking Romney to center his political campaign upon a religion which Hitchens obviously abhors. In his eyes it's not Mitt Romney but "Mitt the Mormon" running for President. I personally believe, and Mitt Romney does as well, that the President of the United States should be elected based on what they would do for the country, not based on the church they attend. Martin Luther King Jr. hoped that one day his children would "not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." The same type of argument should apply to all people of faith, be they Methodist, Mormon or Muslim.

Voters, the real issue is that Mormonism is a cult and a business that has wanted to take over the US and the World since his crooked founder Joseph Smith created it and became "President" of the Mormon Army. This is why the Feds had to take care of him (a coop). Why do you think that the rest of the cult had to leave the east coast and take over the Native Americans at their new headquarters in Utah? It’s hard to find Native Americans in “Utah”. The majority of the Utah population are inbreeds and descendants of Brigham Young. This is a cult that has been taught to hate and take over the rest of the US.

The LDS are secretly owners or stock holders of most major businesses in the US and overseas (IE: The Utah State, Marriott Hotels, Delta Airlines, Wells Fargo, Deseret Industries, the Mormon Temples, to name a few). You are afraid of Osama, well be afraid of the power of Hinckley (their acting president).

They do not care or help anyone in need unless you are a Mormon, or they are in public eyes and their "Bishop" signs a paper. Romney is just a puppet of the LDS cult. Read some history. Although, the LDS cult has tried to cover their facts with the promised secrecy of their followers, one can find the LDS questionable actions everywhere in black and white, starting with the Book of Mormons. Believe what you want, but when you vote remember that we only have one USA.

I think you've managed to one up Hitchens when it comes to outrageous accusations. A cult that has been taught to hate and take over the rest of the US? They do not care or help anyone in need unless you are a Mormon? Both statements are obviously incorrect and rude. I'm Mormon and American and proud to be both. Go out and meet a Mormon and see if they are really as horrible as you think they are. I think you'll find out that for the most part they are what anyone would consider the average loyal, hard working American citizen to be.
